You will be responsible for the safe, efficient and effective management of Cadwraeth and the maintenance and conservation projects in the programme for their region and ability to travel within a geographical/regional area driving a Welsh Government works vehicle. Person specification Assist the Conservation Works and Property Manager in the effective and efficient management of Cadwraeth Cymrus monument conservation operations in the region and in the performance of external contractors and the FM contractor as required across multiple sites, often simultaneously. Ensure the delivery of delegated areas of the conservation programme to specification and best practice conservation standards, with the ability to communicate concise and clear instructions and keep and maintain records. Direct, lead, audit and motivate staff in teams in the region to ensure safe working and compliance with approved safety training programmes. Advise on conservation best practice and develop effective targeted development plans. Produce Method Statements, Safety Plans, Risk Assessments, Construction Site documentation, Tool Box Talks, etc. Ensure correct Health and Safety practice is adhered to at all times. Report and/or remedy breaches promptly. Monitor staff performance, training, development, absences and recruitment. Have an intermediate level of IT skills including the use of PCs, tablet, camera and smartphone. Procure and ensure timely delivery and supply of scaffolding, plant and materials necessary for the progress of all works undertaken by the craft teams. Ensure that all Cadw plant, tools and leased vehicles are serviced and repaired as required. Support the timely delivery of conservation project programmes and assist in the supervision of external contract works as required. Compile site documentation, risk assessments, reports and prepare specifications, digital media, etc. Generate Purchase Orders and authorise payments keeping accurate records, etc. whilst adhering to Welsh Government procurement rules. Carry out site inspections and produce reports. The role requires an intermediate level of IT experience. Contribute to the promotion of public understanding of Cadws work by showcasing our work to visitors, attending and representing Cadw at external events, work demonstrations, media opportunities etc. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, you may be required to perform other duties assigned by management applicable to the Grade.
