Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding opportunity?
We're recruiting for a Senior Occupational Therapist at Marlborough House in Milton Keynes, a 28-bedded male medium secure forensic unit. The unit comprises of 2 wards, an acute assessment ward and a rehabilitation-focused ward. We are an innovative service, developing and strengthening our provision to include a wide spectrum of interventions including sensory assessments, vocational opportunities, and links with the Recovery College.
You'll provide evidence-based, client-centred interventions, manage a varied caseload, and lead junior staff. You'll also play a key role in a multidisciplinary team, shaping service development while supporting recovery-focused care.
This role is eligible for an incentive scheme of £3,500 paid at intervals over an 18-month period. All payments are pro-rata, non-pensionable and subject to a clawback clause. Please note that only employees external to Oxford Health NHS are eligible for this scheme. This role includes an RSU allowance of £1,446 per annum on top of your salary.
Please note if you are based outside of the UK you will need to hold HCPC registration in order to be considered for this role.
Main duties of the job
* Manage a varied and, at times, complex case load.
* Provide occupational therapy that is evidence-based and follows client-centred principles, including assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating the outcome of interventions and documenting all stages of the process.
* Provide leadership for junior/non-registered staff through supervision and appraisal, delegating responsibilities as appropriate.
* Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service within a designated area/team.
* Participate effectively as a full member of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Contribute to the maintenance and development of the trust-wide Occupational Therapy service and local multi-disciplinary team.
* Actively participate in the education of occupational therapy students.
* Engage in teaching/presentations of specialist skills within the Trust and for continuing professional development events/activities.

Qualifications
* Professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
* Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
Experience
* Experience of working in mental health as an Occupational Therapist, preferably within a range of settings, including forensics
* Extensive clinical experience including individual and group work
Skills
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Supervisory skills and/or appraisal skills
* Employees are expected to undertake mandatory and statutory training related to their role.
