Here at TP Tutors, we are looking for a specialist English tutor to join the team. This English tutor role will be ideal if you have previous experience as a teacher, teaching assistant, SEN one-to-one tutor, or in tutoring and are looking for some flexible work. It will be based working with primary or secondary pupils in the Melbourne (DE76) area.
This English tutor role involves:
1. Working with children potentially with Special Education Needs who need face-to-face support, including those with ASD, SEMH, or PMLD, at their homes, care homes, or a local area (e.g., library) as agreed with parents/carers.
2. Working with pupils who may be in care but need extra tuition support (No SEN).
3. Planning resources around the child’s needs, focusing on developing their knowledge in English.
4. Engaging the child with tasks and ensuring they can access the learning.
5. Managing behavior and implementing a range of behavior strategies.

What we are looking for in an English tutor:
* SEN experience (as a teaching assistant, one-to-one tutor, or similar).
* Able to plan and deliver engaging, nurturing sessions.
* Skills to raise pupils’ confidence and learning.
* Experience working with children with challenging behavior.
* Ability to check that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and provide feedback.
To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of your skills and experience.

Working hours are between Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 16:00 approximately.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
