Breast Microvascular Surgery Clinical Fellow (SpR/ST6+ Level) in Plastic Surgery
We wish to appoint 1 Clinical Microsurgical Fellows - Specialty Registrar Level in Plastic Surgery, with a special interest in Breast Reconstruction. The post will commence on 1st August 2025 for a 6-month fixed term contract.
We also wish to appoint 1 Clinical Microsurgical Fellows - Specialty Registrar Level in Plastic Surgery, with a special interest in Breast Reconstruction. The post will commence on 1st February 2026 for a 6-month fixed term contract.
Expectations of the position: The successful candidate will be in ST7/8 of Plastic Surgery training (or equivalent), have passed FRCS (Plast) and will have special interest in microsurgery and breast reconstruction reflected in the application form.
This post is recognised for training by the Specialist Advisory Committee in Plastic Surgery and has Royal College Approval.

Candidates must have, or be eligible for, GMC registration with a licence to practice that allows them to work in posts that are not recognised for training. It is essential that candidates have experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will participate in microvascular breast reconstruction and secondary breast surgeries, they will attend specialist clinics in Breast Reconstruction and a regular Oncoplastic MDT during their tenure. They will also be expected to be involved in regional junior doctor teaching and to undertake clinical audit projects including presentation at Clinical Governance. There is additional opportunity to spend time with management in theatres or the clinical division for experience prior to consultant interview.
