The Rural Property team are now looking to grow their busy team with the addition of a qualified senior lawyer with proven rural property experience of not less than 7 years, with a particular emphasis on servicing agricultural work. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate previous experience of delivering excellent client service as well as being able to lead and manage others.
The successful candidate will contribute to the strategic direction of the firm through people and financial management and business development activities. The role involves operating a Case Management System, so good IT skills are essential. We are looking for a candidate who is a strong communicator, with keen attention to detail and who is confident working and supporting and leading others within a challenging commercial environment.
The role:
The team currently advises landowners, estate owners, investors, lenders and developers, across the sector with the common theme that we provide extremely proactive sector specific advice which our clients can understand and implement.
Typical Duties:
* Financial management of own matters
* Provision of excellent client service
* To develop relationships with clients and colleagues in other departments.
* To provide support and supervision to other team members and be senior figure in their development
* Effective liaison with other service line teams. A close working relationship with the tax and succession planning team in our Private Client Department and Property Litigation Department will form a key part of the role.
* To contribute to business planning and the strategic direction of the Landed Estates and Rural Business Sector and take a lead in that respect for the non-contentious team
* Negotiating and drafting transactional paperwork, production of advice and guidance to clients as appropriate

Skills and experience
* A minimum of 7 Year PQE within a property department advising and representing clients on a range of rural land ownership and agricultural property matters including
* Acquisitions and disposals of working farms and land;
* Negotiating, drafting, and advising on Farm Business Tenancies (FBT’s)
* Negotiating, drafting and advising on Grazing Licences
* Advising on sporting rights and licences
* Advising and drafting easements
* First registrations of unregistered land
* Security work – single and dual representation
