Due to continued expansion, NCD Group Services Ltd is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to lead our estimating function. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing competitive quotations and tenders for electrical projects ranging from £200k to £2m across the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
Job Location
Our office is based outside Guildford, Surrey, which will serve as the primary location of work. However, our projects span across London and the South East, requiring occasional travel to various project sites.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Take a leadership role in the estimating department, mentoring junior estimators and supporting their professional growth.
* Engage with existing & potential clients in a professional and strategic manner to develop long-term business relationships.
* Prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates for large-scale projects.
* Review and analyse tender documents, take-offs, and technical specifications.
* Work closely with Designers, Wholesalers, and Sub-contractors to ensure competitive pricing and value engineering.
* Conduct site visits, surveys, and project meetings to gain a clear understanding of project requirements.
* Ensure client requirements are met while maintaining required business margins and profitability.
* Collaborate with Director, Contracts, Commercial, and Admin teams to ensure enquiries are dealt with within the proposed time scales.
* Follow up on submitted quotations and tenders, providing necessary clarifications to secure contracts.
* Oversee the handover process for secured projects to the Operations/Contracts teams, identifying risks, opportunities, assumptions, and exclusions.
* Assist with pricing variations on live projects, ensuring commercial viability.
* Produce detailed tender reports and financial analysis to support business decisions.
NCD Group Services Ltd Offer
* Full-time PAYE role, 45 hours per week, 5 days a week
* Base salary £55,000 - £65,000 DOE with performance bonus potential up to 20% of salary
* 20 days annual leave + bank holidays (increasing by 1 day up to 25 for each year of employment)

Skills & Experience Required
* Applicants must be UK-based with the right to work in the UK.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical estimating within the commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.
* Strong knowledge of electrical installations, materials, and pricing strategies.
* Ability to lead and manage the estimating function, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build client relationships.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents and electrical drawings.
* Highly IT-literate, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and estimating software.
* Full clean UK driving license.
* Experience using Trimble Enterprise Software.
* Experience with CAD software.
* Experience with auto count software
* Experience with SimPro or similar job management software
* Previous experience leading a team of estimators or working in a senior estimating role.
