Our Purpose
Enara Bio’s purpose is to shine a light on unconventional T cell targets to develop cancer immunotherapies designed to provide lasting benefit for broad patient populations. Our proprietary EDAPT platform enables us to discover a novel and differentiated class of cancer-specific targets from the genomic dark matter, which we call Dark Antigens. We are pioneering approaches to exploit these Dark Antigen targets with a range of immunotherapeutic modalities, including bispecific T-cell engagers, adoptive cell therapies and cancer vaccines.
Enara Bio was founded in 2016 and has been well funded to invest in the build out and growth of our R&D efforts and our fantastic team. The company is based in Oxford, UK.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Analytical Development Scientist to join our Protein Biology Function. You will play an important role in developing Enara Bio’s first T cell receptor (TCR)-based therapeutic biomolecule that targets cancer Dark Antigens. You will be responsible for developing and performing biophysical/biochemical assays to characterise and screen drug candidates. You will also use your knowledge and experience in protein analytics to contribute to a wide range of research and development activities such as drug discovery, biologics manufacturing (CMC), and pre-clinical studies. This is a lab-based role at our Oxford location and prospective candidates should anticipate working on site. If you are looking to gain broader exposure to drug discovery and development and deepen your skills and experiences, then you would be a great fit for our team.
Key Responsibilities
* Developing and performing biophysical/biochemical assays to enable the team to make decisions based on high-quality data and rapidly advance new drug candidates through the development stage.
* Designing experiments appropriately and maintaining a high level of scientific rigor by working collaboratively and seeking advice to understand the specific needs at different stages of drug development.
* Documenting lab procedures, data analysis procedures, and results in an electronic laboratory note to an appropriate standard.
* Communicating experimental results to stakeholders.
* Working to agreed timelines and collaborating effectively to navigate changing priorities.
* Writing up protocol and training colleagues to perform analytical assays, actively supporting their scientific growth and development.
Role Requirements
* Experience in developing at least one of the following analytical assays for protein samples: binding kinetics (SPR, BLI, or similar), capillary electrophoresis (CE-SDS, cIEF, or similar), analytical chromatography methods, thermal stability assays (DSF or similar).
* Demonstrated communication skills, allowing you to expand on your methods and findings in a cross-functional environment.
* A proven ability and willingness to quickly develop new skills, demonstrating humility in asking for support where needed and in encouraging others to do the same.
* Attention to detail. Candidates should be prepared to articulate findings in both verbal and written formats.
* Interest in working in an agile environment and playing an active role across our scientific community. You will be naturally curious, invested in empowering others and keen to celebrate team achievements.
* You should hold a PhD or a degree in a relevant scientific field with equivalent industry experience.
Desirable
The skills or experiences listed below would be an advantage, however, we are also committed to providing training and exposure for talented individuals who meet the core job requirements:
* Experience in biologics drug development in a biotech/pharmaceutical company.
* Experience in, or knowledge of, biologics manufacturability studies such as stress testing or forced degradation studies.
