Newark Care Home is set in the suburbs of Port Glasgow and is easily reached from the surrounding areas of Greenock, Bishopton, Erskine, Paisley and the Western suburbs of Glasgow. The home is custom designed and built to meet the needs of older people, with large comfortable lounge areas to relax in and comfortably socialise with others. All surroundings are of a high quality and there are outdoor areas and gardens to take in fresh air and enjoy the seasons.

Requirements:
Ensure efficient and cost-effective running of all housekeeping services.
Responsible for the departmental budget and tracking of monthly spend, whilst maintaining service standards and product quality
Perform efficient stock control to ensure that cash flow is not tied up unnecessarily and that there is no unnecessary surplus stock on site.
Carry out regular equipment checks and preventative maintenance and reporting to minimise replacement costs.
Comply with company purchasing procedures, utilising nominated suppliers and providing feedback to Head Office on suppliers and services as necessary.
Correct application of planning and organising in order to provide a consistent high level of service through management of both a department staff rota and an efficient cleaning rota.
Oversee the efficient organisation of work routines for departmental employees, ensuring that all areas are cleaned to the highest standard through effective management and the Compliance Audit processes.
Promote and monitor Health and Safety standards
Take corrective action to maintain a safer working environment as indicated in Health and Safety guidelines
Review and implement risk assessments within the department.
Have an excellent knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations and ensure all staff are trained fully in the area to gain both understanding of the adherence to these regulations
Have an awareness of waste disposal and the appropriate legislation surrounding it.
Ensure that the laundry service is efficient and carried out in time, with care of all materials and causing minimum disruption to residents.
Undertake environmental audits inline with CQC environmental standards
Comply with company values, procedures and standards
Attend all relevant Head of Dept meetings
Conduct all return to work interviews following sickness absence.
