Key Responsibilities: As a Residential Conveyancing Assistant, you will support Fee Earners with various tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient handling of conveyancing matters. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the Fee Earner’s diary, arranging meetings and appointments, and handling routine client correspondence and queries. You will attend to clients both in person and on the telephone, ensuring the firm’s high standard of client care is maintained.
You will be responsible for creating and maintaining client records on the firm’s database, ensuring all correspondence and file notes are accurately recorded. Producing client correspondence and enclosures for mailing, including client bills, will be part of your role, along with ensuring the confidentiality of client and firm information at all times.
Maintaining client hard copy files, including copying, storage, and retrieval of information, and handling completion funds and slips, will also be key tasks.
You will order documents from the Land Registry online system, manage search requests, monitor returns, and ensure payments are made. Completing Stamp Duty forms, ensuring cleared balances on accounts before closure, and requesting payments and recording receipts of client monies are also crucial aspects of the role.
Candidate Requirements: The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within a legal environment, strong organisational and administrative skills, excellent client care and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with legal databases and document management systems, along with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy, are essential.
