St Peter’s CE Academy, Alton is proud to be part of Staffordshire University Academies Trust. Our Local Academy Council are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and hard-working teaching assistant to join our school, working specifically 1:1 with a pupil. The ideal start date would be Monday 31st March 2025.
Applicants must have current experience of working with pupils with additional needs and be qualified to NVQ Level 2 (or recognised equivalent qualification). The successful applicant will work under the direction of the class teacher, SENCO and Executive Headteacher. We are looking to appoint someone who is committed to achieving high standards and will work closely with colleagues as part of a friendly and supportive team.
Ideal candidate requirements:
* Current experience of working with pupils with additional needs.
* Good understanding of areas of learning e.g. phonics, literacy, numeracy, science and SEND.
* Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes and in particular, barriers to learning.
* Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
* Work constructively as part of a team whilst being able to demonstrate initiative.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to relate well to a wide range of people.
