Children's Speech and Language Therapist

The post holder will provide speech and language therapy intervention to a caseload of children with a range of communication difficulties and disorders within the early years and mainstream schools teams. Children and families will be seen at various sites across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. The successful candidate will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), liaising with other agencies and disciplines in relation to specific children. The post holder will participate in best practice initiatives, work with speech and language therapy technical instructors, provide observation placements for SLT students, and undertake teaching/training of other professions.

Person Specification
Experience
* Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC Registration
* Undergraduate experience of working with children and adults with a range of communication/swallowing problems
* Evidence of demonstrating activities to others
Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience of providing speech and language therapy to children and families
* Experience of working with children in the early years
Special Knowledge
* Knowledge of management options of range of communication/swallowing problems
