What you'll be doing
1. Reporting directly to the Technical Property & Liability Claims Manager, you'll lead, inspire, and develop your team to deliver exceptional customer service and effective indemnity control.
2. Drive your team to consistently exceed agreed service level agreements (SLAs) while ensuring adherence to company policies and contractual terms.
3. Manage and enhance relationships with key suppliers to maintain performance and compliance.
4. Foster continuous improvement within your team by developing performance enhancement initiatives and contributing to department-wide innovation.
5. Maintain and apply technical knowledge across Large & Complex Loss specialisms to support claims handling and broader business projects.
6. Collaborate across teams and departments to achieve optimal claims outcomes and support strategic initiatives.
7. Oversee recruitment, performance management, and development of team members, ensuring robust succession plans are in place.
8. Identify, own, and manage risks in line with Direct Line Group’s risk framework.
9. Monitor and manage departmental financial costs, ensuring efficient use of resources and achieving best value.
10. Ensure complaints and issues are identified, managed, and resolved promptly, stepping in where needed to resolve escalated matters.
11. Use and interpret management information (MI) to monitor performance and guide development conversations with your team.
12. Act as a key member of the Large & Complex Loss Leadership Team, influencing claims strategy and driving improvement initiatives.
What we're looking for
1. Experience working within Home Claims, with strong technical knowledge of complex loss cases.
2. Exceptional internal and external stakeholder engagement and management capabilities, building strong and collaborative relationships.
3. Leadership experience with a track record of motivating and developing teams to achieve exceptional results.
4. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and use insights to drive performance and improvements.
