Requirements for Senior Residential Support Worker/Team Leader
* Experience in a children's home setting or residential care (essential)
* A positive, welcoming attitude and good communication skills
* Commitment to delivering a high standard of care
* Excellent personal presentation standards
* Ability to work effectively and positively as part of a team
* Fluent in English both verbal and written
Responsibilities for Senior Residential Support Worker/Team Leader
* Assist in the management, development, and delivery of services to children and young people in accordance with safeguarding and caring regulations
* Lead shifts in the home, allocating tasks and areas of responsibility whilst on shift, ensuring records are completed and that there is a comprehensive handover
* Deputise in the absence of the registered manager or deputy manager
* Lead, manage and motivate staff, ensuring high-quality professional supervision and performance development plans are completed which enhance individual's personal and professional development needs and contribute towards the outcomes delivered for children and young people
* Ensure that services are delivered to the required standards and in accordance with safeguarding and caring regulations
* Ensure records of incidents are completed promptly and accurately
* Contribute to the day-to-day care of the children and young people including providing personal, health, social, and domestic care in accordance with their care plans
* Liaise with service users and families/carers, compiling records of actions and observations, to ensure needs are met through communication and building strong relationships
* Ensure all information relating to Children and Young People is accurate and up-to-date and that essential record keeping is completed by staff at the end of the shift
* Maintain accurate records of progress towards the achievement of agreed goals for Children and Young People
* Administer and record the signing in and out of all medication and always ensure the safe storage of medication in line with the home’s policy
