General
The teacher will be responsible for managing the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning within the context of Business and Economics within the broader Individual & Societies programme for ISL’s Secondary School.
1. Leadership
* Lead the development of the Business Management and Economics programme.
* Oversee all aspects of teaching and learning, including curriculum development, assessment and reporting, management of rooms and resources, and showcasing student work.
* Liaise with staff in the I&S Department and Coordinators to ensure continuity of the programme.
* Report budget items under the broader I&S Department to the HOD.
* Attend all Department meetings and School professional development sessions.
* Participate fully in the expanding ISL I&S Programme.
2. Personnel
* Coordinate visits and performances related to the taught curriculum.
3. Accountability
* Develop the Business Management and Economics courses in alignment with the School’s strategic plan.
* Participate in Department meetings, liaising with key staff as appropriate.
* Organize CWOW experiences for students.
* Participate in professional learning and contribute to staff training/meetings.
4. Academic Quality
* Create a happy, challenging, and effective learning environment.
* Understand how children learn and motivate students to perform at their best.
* Inspire diverse classes through differentiated and personalized instruction.
* Support student needs in learning and pastoral matters.
* Implement curriculum policy and strategic plans.
* Liaise with colleagues to ensure effective curriculum delivery.
* Design, develop, implement, and review the Business Management and Economics programme.
* Contribute to the extra-curricular activities programme of the school.
5. Chronology
* Develop an innovative approach to Business Management and Economics.
* Encourage high standards of professionalism from all staff involved with I&S courses.
* Ensure timely and professional planning for the Business Management and Economics courses.
6. Community
Contribute to the development of a positive attitude between the I&S Programme and the wider community.
* Coordinate with personnel to ensure all tasks are carried out by teaching and non-teaching staff.
* Publicize and organize aspects of the I&S Department and courses in a timely fashion.
7. Administration
* Coordinate with the HOD to draft communication about events related to Business Management and Economics courses.
8. Communication
* Ensure information regarding students and activities is communicated through appropriate channels.
* Advise the HOD, Coordinators, and Secondary Principal on public performances and exhibitions.
* Communicate with the wider community in a timely and professional manner.
* Liaise with other agencies and support services as necessary.
9. Finances
* Manage the annual budget for Business Management and Economics courses with the HOD.
* Ensure proper budgeting for all Business Management and Economics resources.
* Manage the deployment of resources to keep areas ordered and tidy.
10. Care & Guidance
Familiarize with the School’s Child Protection Policy and report concerns to the designated Child Protection Officer. Ensure all educational practices align with the school’s health and safety procedures.
