We are seeking a skilled Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in ensuring our fleet of commercial vehicles remain operational, reliable, and well-maintained, allowing us to continue delivering top-tier services to our customers. Role Overview: As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will be primarily based from the workshop with occasional mobile visits to local repairs you will be responsible for diagnosing faults, performing routine servicing, and maintaining our fleet of light commercial vehicles. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage your workload efficiently. Key Responsibilities: • Vehicle Servicing & Maintenance: Undertake routine servicing and maintenance of light commercial vehicles, ensuring all • work is completed to the highest standard. • Fault Diagnosis: Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues, identifying and rectifying faults effectively. • Component Replacement: Strip, fit, and replace defective vehicle components as necessary. • MOT Preparation: Prepare vehicles for MOT testing, ensuring all legal and safety standards are met. • Documentation: Complete job cards accurately and ensure they are returned on a weekly basis for processing. • Stock Management: Liaise with stores personnel to manage stock levels and order parts efficiently. • External Work Coordination: Identify and recommend additional work that may need to be undertaken by external • companies. • Communication: Work closely with Operations Managers to schedule vehicles for services and ensure minimal disruption to the fleet. Routine Duties: • Perform regular vehicle servicing and maintenance tasks. • Carry out vehicle repairs as required, ensuring a high standard of workmanship. • Conduct fault diagnostics and implement appropriate solutions. • Prepare vehicles for MOT testing, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. • Manage stock and materials, ensuring the availability of necessary parts and supplies. • Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times. • Test drive vehicles to ensure issues have been resolved. Non-Routine Duties: - Continuously develop your skills and capabilities through training provided by the company. - Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Garage Manager.
