The Role
The Production Manager holds a pivotal role within the Plant Management Team, tasked with driving operational efficiency and achieving excellence across all production activities. This role encompasses leadership in capacity planning, production control, new product introduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Hours of Work:
8.15 am - 5pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 45 minutes lunch break.
Half day; 8.15am - 1pm Wednesday.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, encourage and train a multidisciplinary team comprising Production and Engineering departments to ensure the fulfilment of customer expectations in terms of quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
Introduce and uphold manufacturing practices and procedures compliant with ISO 9001, 18001 & 45001 standards and tailored to meet the stringent requirements of all customers and stakeholders.
Provide technical expertise and leadership in addressing product and process challenges, fostering a culture of safety, openness, problem-solving and innovation.
Drive continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing process, aiming for operational excellence and efficiency gains across processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement engineering solutions to production challenges, optimizing workflows and enhancing productivity.
Oversee the seamless integration of new systems and products into the production environment, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
To be successful in this role, you will likely have:
• A number of years leading teams in a manufacturing environment
• A concern for people and ensuring people are treated with respect and supported to reach their full potential
• A results orientation which will enable us to meet customer requirements and continuously improve
• Knowledge of using LEAN management tools and experienced in delivering Continuous Improvement
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to lead meetings and encourage team performance.
• Ability to influence and build trust and establish excellent relationships with colleagues.
A relevant educational qualification in manufacturing would be an advantage.
