* Practice/C&G 752 or Dip. HE Operating Department Practice.
* BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice.
* Current registration of professional body.
* To be responsible for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team.
* To participate in the assessment of patient care needs implementing and maintaining agreed standards of care.
* Following Codes of Professional Practice provide high quality care to patients undergoing treatment within the Peri-Operative Environment.

Job Title: Nurse Team Leader Theatre Scrub
Trust: East Suffolk & North Essex NHS Foundation Trust
Location: Colchester General Hospital
Pay Rate: Day £21.80 per hour, Sat/Nights £28.33 per hour, Sun/Bank Hols £34.87 per hour
Contract length: Ongoing full-time Long term
Shift Pattern: Monday to Sunday working elective/trauma, 08:00 - 05:45

What you can add:
* Excellent communication skills underpinned by leadership and inter-transferable across disciplines.
* The ability to prioritise with multifaceted complex situations and use developed physical skills to work at speed and with precision in emergency situations e.g. Cardiac Arrest, Code Blue/Red.
* Excellent organisational skills which demonstrate that the patient is central to the service.
* Responsible for the safe use of expensive/highly complex equipment e.g. Cell salvage, ventilators, endoscopes.
* Application of skills to ensure sterility, asepsis, infection control and prevention of Never Events such as patient retained instruments.
* Willing and able to allocate & supervise staff including qualified staff and all other visiting professionals.
* If applicable to preferred area of practice, form an integral part of the inter-hospital transfer team, supporting the transfer of critically ill patients either by road or air.
* Able to use computers to record a patient's journey and enter data into systems. Record information manually to support efficiency programmes e.g. and audits e.g. Saving Lives.
* Able to co-ordinate or at least regularly and reliably participate in audits and trials of clinical equipment.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
What you'll need:
* Proven post registration performing as a Theatre Practitioner with scrub.
* Evidence of attending and applying into practice training related to a theatre speciality.
* Acquired level of knowledge and skills sufficient to provide 24 hour service provision.
* RGN/Dip. HE/BSc.
* NVQ III in Operating Department Practice/C&G 752 or Dip.
* Current registration of professional body.
* Mentorship Qualification/Trust Student Assessment Course.
* Trained appraiser or willingness to obtain.
* Advanced scrub competencies or/and Qualified Surgical First Assistant or/and Cell Salvage operator or/and Specialist knowledge in an additional/equivalent speciality field or working towards.
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.

Experience
* A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Acute hospital as Nurse Team Leader Scrub ward's environment within the last 3 years.
Qualifications
* All Registered Nurse roles will be required to provide evidence of:
* Statement of NMC Registration.
* Degree/Diploma in Nursing.
