Client
My client is a leading name in the travel industry, known for its dynamic and customer-focused approach. They are seeking a litigation professional to support their legal and customer teams in managing legal challenges, ensuring smooth claims processing, and providing expert advice on consumer protection and litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and coordinate legal challenges, ensuring claims are directed to the correct business areas efficiently.
* Act as a subject matter expert on consumer protection laws, the Package Travel Regulations, and general litigation exposure.
* Manage pre-action claims, escalated customer disputes, and insured matters, providing sound legal and commercial advice.
* Oversee litigated claims, particularly those outside insurance coverage, working to mitigate risk and reduce exposure.
* Work closely with insurance teams, external claims handlers, and customer service teams to ensure a smooth legal process.
* Track claim volumes, litigation trends, financial reserves, and case outcomes, providing insights to the legal directorate.
What They’re Looking For
* Strong background in civil litigation, consumer claims, or high-volume case management.
* England and Wales Qualified Lawyer or CILEX-qualified professional with litigation experience.
* Understanding of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and how to use them tactically in claims handling.
* Prior experience handling insured claims, including personal injury in a travel or tour operator setting is a plus.
* Fluent in one of the following languages – Spanish, Portuguese, or Danish (this is essential).
