AWE is looking for a P6 Proficient Senior Project Planner to join our Estates & Liabilities team to support its delivery of a range of complex and interesting projects.
Salary range: £48,030 to £65,000
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke - onsite requirement is dependent on business requirements.
Introducing the role:
We use P6 at AWE so proficiency with this is really important. As a Senior Project Planner, you will work within a project controls team, on a broad spectrum of projects within Estates & Liabilities, in a highly regulated environment.
What does Estates & Liabilities deliver?
* Over the next 40+ years there is an exciting Programme of work to change AWE’s outlook – providing new capabilities & strategies to change how we work & changing the physical appearance of the Sites.
* Work is underway to decommission & demolish facilities as they fall out of use changing the skyline of AWE Sites.
* Waste created from works at AWE spans from non-hazardous waste through to the more hazardous types of waste, all of which have to be handled, processed & transported for disposal.
* Current Facilities & Utilities also need to be maintained to be fit for purpose & safe. This ranges from managing simple maintenance tasks to more complex refurbishment or replacement projects.
* Provision of alternative accommodation whilst some of the work is completed can be a complex exercise in balancing access to facilities, people & completion of tasks.
* Delivery of Projects is undertaken by both internal & external teams & requires working with different commercial contract types & engagement with internal & external supply chains.
You will be implementing Planning processes, policies, and procedures. Producing Planning and EV deliverables including long range operational integrated Programme Planning activities. Supporting the Senior Project Controls Manager with emergent projects. Developing and maintaining relationships with and awareness of key project stakeholders including contractors.
Your day as a Senior Project Planner with AWE could look like this:
* Leading on and contributing to the creation of project baselines, adding value to performance reporting and forecasting and assessment of sub-contractor schedule submissions.
* Collaborating with Project Managers and some really innovative specialists, to guide them on management and control project delivery. You will be contributing to project business cases and change control process, risk and opportunity process and peer reviews.
As a Senior Project Planner, along with proficiency in P6, we’d like you to have some of the following skills or experience:
* Development, integration, and analysis of project plans
* Best practice planning processes and tools
* Confidence modelling processes and techniques
* An analytical approach along with a passion for interpreting charts and spreadsheets
* Knowledge of NEC4, standard form of contract
* Provision of planning and scheduling expertise in support of a project team
* Prioritising and working to challenging timescales
* Coaching, developing, and inspiring a team
