As part of this, we are seeking a Technical Programme Manager to lead one of Northern Ireland's most significant public sector digital transformation projects. The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Programme Manager to lead the technical execution their implementation project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, project management, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
* Manage the end-to-end delivery of software development projects within contractual constraints
* Manage the customer and external stakeholder relationships
* Work closely with the engineering team and clients to understand the overall business and technology needs
* Develop comprehensive project plans
* Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
* Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget
* Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques
* Report and escalate to management as needed
* Perform risk management to minimize project risks
* Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
* Manage the members of the delivery team
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
* Proven working experience as a programme/project manager in the information technology sector
* Proven experience of the successful delivery of large (£10M+), complex projects under contractual constraints
* Experience of managing large-scale Public Sector projects
* Experience of managing teams of 10+ resources, including responsible for team member line management
* Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA)
* Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development
* PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus
