We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, care-focused senior CT radiographer who is keen to contribute and maintain our Trusts commitment to high quality service provision and uphold the highest standards of care for our patients.
The post holder will be responsible for assisting the CT leads in providing the operational management, training of staff and coordination of the CT service at West Middlesex University Hospital.
Main duties of the job
Operationally they will be responsible for assisting in continual improvement of Patient Experience and Quality of Care improvement projects including paperless workflow, CT protocol updates, department wide surveys and reviewing patient pathways.
The post holder must keep at the forefront of developments in CT, and be able to safely implement them in our practices and work flow.

Job responsibilities
Successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the operation of our CT imaging service, ensuring our patients have access to high quality care to assist in diagnosis and treatment and will also be responsible for training and supervising junior staff and students. Our staff are our most important asset which we want to ensure reach their full potential.
Responsibilities include;

5. To assist the CT Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent with the organisation of the CT Department.
6. Work closely with the CT Physics/Siemens team to work on protocol development when needed.
7. Commitment to ensuring own development by exposing self to all necessary modalities at West Middlesex University Hospital.
8. To be conversant with a broad range of CT scanning protocols.
9. Ensure that Radiation Protection guidelines, IR(ME)R, IRR, etc. guidelines and local rules are strictly adhered to.
10. Coordinate the flow of Emergency and Inpatient activity.
11. Contribute to the organisation of Outpatient lists.
12. Assist with practical training of junior staff and student radiographers, acting as a role model through leading by example.
13. Communicate with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the directorate.
14. Ensure that guidelines and local rules are strictly adhered to.
15. Ensure that all guidelines relating to staff and patient safety are adhered to whilst in the CT department.
16. Ensure that the rules and procedures of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 are strictly adhered to, and that all working areas are kept clean and safe.
17. Participate in departmental quality assurance programmes as required.
18. Proactively demonstrate interest in developing oneself professionally by proposing QI projects, collecting data and presenting at inter/national conferences.
19. Report and record all equipment faults as well as be able to assist with the diagnosis and remedy of routine faults.
20. Participate in the on call and stand by rotas as required.
21. Comply with, and be able to demonstrate and instruct, safe manual handling techniques.
22. Comply with and be able to demonstrate safe infection control measures.
23. To demonstrate flexibility and adaptability with rostering requirements to ensure a robust and safe imaging service across the Trust.
24. Maintain a high level of commitment to, and take responsibility for continuing professional development (CPD). The post holder is encouraged by the department to attend both personal and professional development activities that assist in their role and the service.
25. The post holder will be required to actively participate in a periodic professional development review, in accordance with Trust guidelines.
26. Ensure compliance with HCPC Code of Conduct.
27. To undertake any other duties which may be appropriate to the post.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) Radiography, DCR (R) or accepted international equivalent
* HCPC Registration
* Post graduate qualification in imaging e.g. CT
* Member of SOR
* Interest in further study and CPD including research
* Quality Improvement (QI), transformation or innovation training
Experience
* Broad general radiography experience at radiographer level
* Proven acumen for approaching all situations with an open mind and 'can-do' attitude
* Extensive experience of a wide range of CT procedures
* NHS experience
* Demonstrable Quality Improvement (QI), transformation or innovation experience
* Student supervision responsibilities
