YTL Construction UK is responsible for designing and building infrastructure, which includes sewage treatment works, pumping stations and reservoirs. As a further step in our growth, we are developing our Design team, and so this is a great opportunity to join our growing professional team as an Engineer.
What you'll do
As an Engineer in the YTL Infrastructure Design team, you will lead and drive design activities for a number of high-value, complex sewerage infrastructure projects. Your experience will enable you to work effectively alongside our in-house contracting partners to produce innovative, compliant and cost-effective design solutions.
Day-to-day you will be part of a team of infrastructure design professionals, working closely with other engineering disciplines and support services, meeting the quality, financial and programme requirements of the Project Delivery team. Alongside your technical activities, you will work closely with the Delivery team, proactively managing the third party mitigation activities identified in the Environmental and 3rd Party Management Plan (E3MP) that will enable the designed solutions to be constructed.
In addition, a key part of your role will be to:
1. Produce the options, outline and detailed design deliverables associated with gravity and pressurised sewerage systems to resolve hydraulic deficiencies in our network.
2. Improve the environment, including the production of technical and commercial reports, calculations and technical specifications.
3. Manage the production of engineering drawings in line with company and industry technical standards.
What you'll need
To do all of this, you'll have a relevant qualification (Degree or HNC as an absolute minimum) in civil engineering, be chartered (or working actively towards) by a recognised professional body.
You will have a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in sewerage network design, an understanding of CDM 2015, DCG Code, as well as sewer rehabilitation and UID/CSO design experience.
In addition, you'll have good IT skills and practical experience of InfoWorks CS/ICM and GIS systems. The role will require regular visits to sites and other offices, so a clean driving licence is essential.
What you'll receive
* Total pension contributions up to 20%.
* Career progression and professional development opportunities.
* 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
* The opportunity to buy up to ten days' holiday and sell up to five every year.
