About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to join a leading organisation delivering projects across the Rail, Power, Tunnelling, Fire & Facilities sectors. This role is crucial in promoting a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance across multiple high-profile projects.
Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, the HSE Manager will provide strategic leadership and support, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 regulations and best practices. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills, working closely with clients, Principal Contractors, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the implementation of HSE initiatives across projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
* Provide expert guidance on health, safety, and environmental management for both office and site-based teams.
* Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, implementing necessary corrective actions.
* Develop and deliver training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
* Investigate incidents and near misses, implementing preventative measures and reporting findings.
* Support project mobilisation by developing key documentation, risk assessments, and HSE performance indicators.
* Act as the primary HSE representative, liaising with clients, regulatory bodies, and Principal Contractors.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a Health & Safety management role within the construction, infrastructure, or rail sectors.
* Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations, ISO 45001, and health & safety legislation.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
* A proactive and problem-solving approach to health and safety management.
* A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across project locations.
Qualifications
* NEBOSH Diploma or NCRQ Diploma (required)
* IOSH Certified or Chartered Membership (preferred)
* CSCS or ECS Safety Card (required)
* Lead or Internal Auditor (ISO 45001/9001) (desirable)
