An entry-level Delay Analysis role exists in Manchester. You will work within the specialist claims and disputes division of a large multinational consultancy.
The client is looking to hire strong Project Planners or Engineers who have had exposure to using planning software and ideally exposure to delay analysis techniques as part of their traditional role.
This would be the ideal first step into construction disputes for candidates with a genuine passion for transitioning into a delay analysis-oriented role in the claims and disputes sector.

To be eligible for this role, candidates must have at least 3-4 years in a role that has involved them using common planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta PowerProject and/or similar programmes.

Responsibilities and Duties
* Candidates will be expected to support senior staff on projects/assignments requiring planning and delay analysis expertise.
* Handling delay claims on live projects.
* Working on formal disputes that are preparing for adjudications and similar resolution techniques.
* Assist in drafting detailed expert witness reports for use in formal dispute resolution proceedings.
* Supporting an expert witness in arbitration and litigation proceedings.
* Contribute to client meetings.
* Supporting colleagues with project deliverables.
* Undertaking research and development of emerging industry-related technologies as well as keeping up with the developments within own technical area of expertise.
* Advise clients on problematic projects, including advising on dispute avoidance tactics and alternative resolution techniques.
Desired Skills and Experience
* A minimum of 4 years of relevant construction and engineering industry experience.
* Candidates may come from a Project Management, Planning, or Engineering background but must have some experience of managing programmes, using planning software, and ideally have exposure to delay analysis techniques.
* Exposure to EOT claims is desired.
* Candidates must be seriously motivated to progress their career in a specialist claims and disputes environment.
* Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of using common planning software such as Primavera, Asta PowerProject, TILOS, CEMAR, and Excel.
* Strong analytical skills are required.
* Excellent communication and writing skills will be required.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* Degree level education in a construction-related field or similar equivalent qualification is desired.
* Membership to a professional body such as the CIOB or CIArb would be advantageous but not essential.
* Relevant MSc in engineering and/or Construction Law and Disputes LLM would also be advantageous but not essential.
