An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 8a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist and Non-Medical Prescriber to join the Neuro-Developmental and Learning Disabilities Team, Hammersmith & Fulham (H&F) CAMHS based at 48 Glenthorne Rd, London W6 0LS.
The Neuro-Developmental and Learning Disabilities Team is part of the Tier 3 H&F CAMH Service, which includes an adolescent team, learning disability team, and child and family team. The Service links to a comprehensive Community CAMH Service, CAMHS Crisis Prevention/Care Team (ALLIANCE), and a CAMHS Eating Disorder Service. The post holder will be part of a growing team of clinicians with expertise in working with children and young people with complex mental health needs.
The Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist will join a supportive, committed, and skilled nursing team dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young people in mental health services.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will work autonomously to provide advanced mental health assessments and interventions for children, young people, and families. You will contribute to the leadership and development of the CAMHS Nursing Team and be involved in service development, audits, research, and quality improvement projects.
The role includes conducting highly specialist diagnostic assessments of children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Tic disorders) and co-morbid mental health issues. You will offer individual, family, and group therapeutic interventions, including risk management.
Non-Medical Prescribing responsibilities are essential, and training as an Independent Non-Medical Prescriber is required.
