Paisley Site Services are pleased to be working with a company that builds, operates and maintains its vessels in the North East of England.
The role requires a dedicated person to carry out the maintenance of the company’s vessels.
The role is based around a 3-week rotation onboard opposite another engineer. This ensures the vessel is manned 365 days a year.
The chosen candidate will have a passion for engineering as well as being able to work in a small team involved in a multitude of tasks.
Marine experience is essential.
Onboard Engineer Job Duties:
Liaise with vessel masters and engineering superintendent to ensure all vessel systems and processes are maintained to company working standards.
Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance of the company’s vessels
Carry out tasks in accordance with a planned maintenance system
Assisting with operational requirements where necessary
Carry out deck work including mooring and crane ops in support of survey or client requirements.
Liaise with opposite shift engineer to ensure defects and planned works are carried out efficiently between rotations
Onboard Engineer Skills & experience & pre -requisites
MUST be competent in mechanical fittings skills and have knowledge of pumps, motors, engines and general repair and maintenance.
MUST have a decent understanding of electrical circuits, motors and control systems and be able to fault find as well as read electrical drawings
Ideally have a decent understanding of hydraulic systems.
Must be fully PC literate and capable of using Microsoft office to a high standard
Must have people skills and be able to talk to clients.
Must have a positive approach to practical work and be willing to learn new skills.
Qualifications required
Must have AEC 1 & 2 or MCA approved EOOW CoC
In date STCW and ENG1 certificates
3 weeks on, 3 weeks off rotation
