Mental Health Youth Worker Are you enthusiastic about supporting the mental health and well-being of children and young people? Do you have experience supporting individuals that can find it difficult to build social and emotional relationships? In recent years there is a massive focus on supporting the mental health of pupils who have been impacted by adverse childhood experiences. We are currently seeking practitioners to support these pupils on a 1:1 basis for the rest of the Academic Year at a large SEMH school in Grantham (with an option of progressing onto contract with the right school). As a Youth Mental Health Support Worker, you will be involved in not only supporting pupils within the classroom but will also be comfortable with running activities with the pupil/s outside the classroom as well. Alongside the class teacher, you will also provide support with ensuring the right support is in place for the students. This position is on a full-time basis and full support and guidance will be given. There will also be opportunities to complete additional training whilst in the role. This would be a great opportunity for someone that has experience supporting pupils in school or an alternative setting, but we will also be considering people without this experience. Previous experience of managing challenging behaviour and working in a fast paced environmental is desirable but not essential.
