An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new specialist podiatrist role working within Glan Clwyd Hospital. The successful candidate will work within the emergency department assisting in developing pathways and standard operating procedures for patients presenting with foot problems/ulceration. The Podiatrist will take a lead in the treatment and care planning for these patients as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
This specialist role will also work across inpatient care and the diabetic foot ulcer team to assist in the delivery of specialist podiatry treatment, working closely with the vascular and diabetes podiatry teams.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of this new role to facilitate best practice for the care of patients with foot ischaemia/ulceration.
Main duties of the job
To be part of a highly motivated team, having at least five years NHS post registration experience, working independently in both community and acute settings, delivering highly specialist seamless podiatric care to individuals and groups supporting management of complex cases and promoting empowerment of individuals to self-manage their conditions.
To be a Lead for inpatient podiatry provision to clinically support the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of best practice, acting as a source of expertise. You will be expected to demonstrate specialist knowledge and a high level of personal skill and be responsible for the training, supervision and performance assessment of staff. You will need a sound theoretical knowledge base and be able to demonstrate evidence-based practice.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
