Main duties of the job
The post will be Countywide but based at the Whiteleaf Centre. The Social Worker will be undertaking Care Act and s117 Assessments to facilitate discharge from adult and older adult wards as well as undertaking s42 Enquiries for adults and older adults in Buckinghamshire.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

2. Provide a high quality and effective professional casework service, managing a caseload within a framework of appropriate supervision.
3. Comply with legislation, statutory guidance and local policies and procedures.
4. Deliver outstanding support to Buckinghamshire residents and ensure that regular monitoring and review of care and support plans is carried out.
5. Be competent in all areas of the Professional Capabilities Framework of Social Work.
6. Work in accordance with the Better Lives framework.
7. Promote and deliver goal-based support for people to achieve greater independence.
8. Promote equality and treat everyone with fairness and dignity.
9. Provide a proactive personalised approach to the delivery of care and practice.
10. Respond to people's needs in a timely manner and focus on improving well-being.
11. Give people greater choice and control over the care that they receive.
12. Identify risks and safety measures to reduce that risk.
13. Support people to achieve important outcomes using available resources.
14. Provide personalised information and advice, safeguarding, assessment, support planning and review to individuals/families and their carers.
15. Promote independence, wellbeing, and a community assets-based approach to social care.
16. Ensure compliance with all statutory social care requirements including the Care Act, the Mental Health Act, and the Mental Capacity Act.
17. Manage a caseload with appropriate reflective supervision and undertake strength-based assessments.
18. Assist users and carers in the social care process by providing advice and access to services.
19. Maintain accurate records in line with Data Protection legislation (GDPR).
20. Prepare clear reports for meetings and court proceedings as necessary.
21. Keep up to date with research findings and innovative practice within the social work field.
22. Participate in regular reflective supervision and maintain a record of continuous professional development.
23. Promote the Equality Policy and prevent discrimination.
24. Perform all functions of the post consistent with current legislation and Trust policies.

Qualifications
* Qualified Social Worker
Experience
* Knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable adults in a statutory setting.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and local policies.
* Demonstrable knowledge of relevant theoretical frameworks and research findings.
* Understanding of General Data Protection Regulations and Freedom of Information.
* Commitment to upholding professional standards in practice.
