An exciting opportunity has arisen, to join Royal Mail as an Assistant Workshop Manager.
The role of the Assistant Workshop Manager plays a critical part in ensuring optimal Fleet performance and meeting the Operators requirements efficiently and cost:effectively. As a key support to the Workshop Manager, this position is accountable for overseeing Workshop performance and managing people processes.
About the role
- Youll be accountable for compliance to both legal and RM safety policies and meeting safety targets
- Youll be accountable for delivering maintenance services and for optimising cost performance and forecasting through the use of the resource planning and booking tools
- Youll be accountable for optimising the efficiency of Fleet Workshop to meet industry standard performance levels
- Youll ensure effective engagement, communication and coaching to support and develop the Fleet Workshop team
- Youll ensure optimum vehicle availability to meet the requirements of the Operation
- Youll provide visible and effective leadership for Fleet Workshop teams and support staff
- Youll build effective and professional relationships with key stakeholders and customers, being the first point of contact for operational managers for Fleet related queries
- Youll actively manage and support the maintenance of ISO 9001 quality standard within Fleet Workshop and support Continuous Improvement activity within the Workshop
Shift pattern: Monday : Friday 11.00am : 6.00pm
About you

Experience
- Relevant Industry knowledge and experience of dispersed maintenance operations
- Knowledge of compliance requirements for vehicles and trailers maintained to road transport legislation is essential : HGV is desirable
Qualifications
- Full driving licence : (C+E desirable)
- Recognised Technical Qualification : NVQ level 3 : Motor Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
