A reputable Primary School in Burnley is seeking a part-time Teacher to teach children with SEN and additional needs. They have recently created provision in school to promote an inclusive education.
You will be the Teacher of a class of SEN children across KS1 and KS2. These children will access the SEN provision and will have differentiated curriculums. The school have created a ‘teaching room’, a ‘snack room’, a ‘play-based learning room’, a ‘sensory room’ and an outdoor area for the children to learn in. The children need to engage with a play-base learning curriculum so the classroom will be set up with continuous provision.

Days: Monday – Wednesday
Job Title: Part-time SEN Teacher
Pay: £120 - £150 per day
Start: September 2025
You will need:
- An excellent understanding of SEN and have strategies to try and adapt with children across KS1 and KS2.
- An excellent understanding of continuous provision and how to encourage development and progression in a play-based learning environment.
- To work with the Teaching Assistants to change the classroom and continuous provision, following the needs and interests of each child.
- To be resilient and persevere when teaching children with additional needs.
- To be adaptable and flexible when teaching the alternative curriculums.
- To work collaboratively with SLT, the SENCO, parents and staff within the classroom.
- To follow individual education plans, review these plans and put new actions in place.
- To build positive relationships with children and their families.
- To recognise gaps in children’s learning and communicate this with parents.
- To promote the inclusive school ethos daily.
- To support children’s SEMH (social, emotional and mental health development)
Requirements for this role:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN is essential.
- Experience working in a continuous provision environment.
- QTS – Primary Education qualification.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding children across school.
- Enhance child DBS on the update service.
