Highway Developer Coordinator Location:
Winchester (Hybrid – 2 Days Office / 3 Days Remote)
Contract: Temporary (3 Months, Potential for Extension)
Salary: Up to £39.39 per hour PAYE (£51.86 per hour Umbrella, £57.05 per hour Agency)
Myn is recruiting for our long-term client in Winchester. We are looking for an experienced Highway Developer Coordinator to support the delivery of Section 278 and adoptable highway schemes. This role is ideal for someone with strong project management, coordination, and highways expertise.
The Role
You will work closely with developers, consultants, legal teams, and national and local highway authorities to ensure smooth delivery of development-related highway schemes. Your goal is to streamline processes, resolve challenges, and support successful project completion.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Acting as a key liaison between developers, design engineers, internal teams, and external bodies.
2. Managing coordination and progress meetings to track technical approvals and legal agreements.
3. Facilitating engagement with National Highways, ensuring compliance with their requirements.
4. Supporting Section 278 and Section 38 processes, from design submission to final agreement.
5. Overseeing programme timelines to identify road space constraints and construction sequencing.
6. Providing regular progress and financial update reports on approvals, fees, and bonds.
7. Assisting with stakeholder engagement and communications throughout the project lifecycle.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Qualifications
1. Strong interpersonal, communication, and client-facing skills.
2. Knowledge of transport planning, highway engineering, and planning policy.
3. Experience in coordinating highways schemes and approvals.
4. Ability to work across teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
5. Demonstrable industry experience in highways development projects.
6. Full UK driving licence (use of own or pool vehicle for site visits).
Desirable
1. Degree in a relevant field (or equivalent) with professional accreditation (chartered/incorporated).
Working Conditions
1. Hybrid role – 2 days in the office, 3 days remote.
2. Site visits required, including occasional lone working.
3. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) where necessary.
4. Possible exposure to contaminated soil/water during inspections.
