A great family run business - manufacturer of panel products in the Building Materials sector with a £40m turnover. This sales role has a strong account management element with a sales ledger of £2.5m and massive scope for developing the current ledger.
Your background could be in internal or external sales, ideally with knowledge of timber, sheet materials, or panel products. General construction sales experience or builders merchants knowledge is sufficient.
This is a genuine opportunity to shine and progress. The role could start as an internal sales executive role while you learn systems before transitioning into an Area Sales role. It could be hybrid or start out on the road as an Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager, tailored to suit your experience.
The company is looking to recruit a new position within their well-regarded business. The role will likely be an internal/external mix with hybrid options. The current ledger is functioning well, but there is a need for more account management, as the current account managers have reached their limit. New business is always welcome and forms an integral part of the role.
They need an enthusiastic person familiar with maximizing current business relationships and confident in developing new ones. This position requires someone who is proactive, confident in communication, and attentive to detail. There are clear rewards within this company, and genuine talent will always be respected.
They do not want an order processor; they need a proactive, hungry sales professional ideally from the timber supplies or building supplies sector. You will interact with customers over the phone, by email, and face to face, asking questions, understanding their projects, taking quotation enquiries, developing rapport, and upselling where possible. You must think on your feet and demonstrate sound product knowledge when called upon.
The role also involves working on quotations, generating quotes, and following these up to turn them into orders. Strong sales skills are essential, and while timber/sheet materials knowledge is ideal, at a minimum, you must have experience in the general merchants environment.
