Mechanical Fitters Mate (299jc) – Central Scottish Belt - £14 – 16 per hour + Benefits
Our client specialises in installing all types of mechanical plants for the Water industry across the UK. They offer services including water & wastewater treatment, including design, fabrication, site installation and testing.
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Fitters Mate, who will work as part of a team of engineers and will be responsible for delivering quality and service in a safe and efficient manner.
This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week. Monday-Thursday 8am-4.30pm and Friday 8am-2pm based in Kilmaurs.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Assembly and Installation: Engage in the assembly and installation of a diverse range of plant and equipment, primarily within the Water Industry.
2. Material Experience: Possess experience working with materials such as Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, and Ductile Iron Pipework.
3. Component Familiarity: Have knowledge of valves, components, and support systems related to pipeline installation.
4. Pump and Drive Motor Expertise: Be acquainted with the removal and installation of pumps and drive motors.
5. Problem Solving: Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, perform site repairs, and carry out installations at customer sites.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Health & Safety Awareness: A thorough understanding of all relevant H&S regulations and safe systems of work.
2. Qualifications: Recognised practical qualifications or relevant training.
3. Industry Experience: Experience in the Water Industry and Construction Site Environments.
4. Mechanical Installations: Knowledge of Mechanical Installations.
5. Maturity and Practicality: Display maturity and practical engineering skills.
6. Health and Fitness: Good health and a level of general fitness.
7. Tools: Possession of relevant and suitable hand tools.
8. Driving License: A full clean driving license.
