Manufacturing Engineer - Improvement Lead - Submarines
Location: On site, Derby
An exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer - Improvement Lead has arisen within the New Build & Components Business (NB&C), in Nuclear (Submarines).

The role's aim is to lead Manufacturing Engineering Strategic Improvements and apply Built-in Quality across various manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with SMEs to promote a culture of Continuous Improvement and Zero Defect. As the submarines business scales up to deliver three times its current volume, this pivotal role ensures that NB&C maintains robust engineering standards and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:
1. Identify and lead major improvement projects to enhance SQCDP.
2. Lead the application of Built-in Quality tools across NB&C.
3. Define and manage execution plans for applying Built-in Quality tools (PFD, CM, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA) to existing products.
4. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Built-in Quality.
5. Establish standard toolsets and approaches aligned with industry best practices.
6. Provide coaching and support to the wider PCO ME team.
7. Drive technical improvements supporting our Nuclear culture.

* Have a solid understanding of Manufacturing Engineering processes and practices.
* Have significant experience applying Built-in Quality tools.
* Have led teams to deliver major technical projects.
* Be proficient with relevant manufacturing systems and IT tools.
