You will handle VAT returns, ensuring compliance and timely submissions, assist in preparing statutory accounts, financial statements, and self-assessment tax returns, and liaise with clients and HMRC to address queries and provide professional advice. Additionally, you will support payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines, and assist the team with administrative tasks such as answering phones and reception duties. Your personality, experience and qualifications The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in an accounting practice, with strong proficiency in Xero and MS Excel. A solid understanding of current accounting regulations, including VAT and tax submissions, is essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships are crucial. While an AAT qualification or part-qualified ACCA/ACA is preferred, it is not mandatory. The role also requires exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts effectively.
