Job overview
The catering department at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital is looking to recruit a part-time experienced Catering Assistant to work within retail.
Applicants must have previous catering experience in hospitality retail with high standards of work, be an outgoing, hard-working and enthusiastic individual that is able to work on their own initiative.
Working relief on a Monday, Tuesday & Friday working between the hours of 7.00am - 20.30pm, Wednesday & Thursday 17.00pm - 20.30pm.
Applicants are required to be flexible in their approach to hours and duties and able to work additional shifts as and when required.
Main duties of the job
To carry out a wide range of general catering duties in an efficient and effective manner to ensure that a high quality service is provided at all times. This post has a significant amount of personal contact with Staff, Patients and Members of the Public.
Duties include handling money, serving customers, basic food preparation, using a barista coffee machine, associated general/deep cleaning duties and completion of control paperwork.

Experience
* Previous catering experience required.
* Experience in environments where a methodical and organised approach to work can be demonstrated.
Qualifications
* Willingness to undertake and achieve the level 2 Food Safety Certificate, COSHH Training and Trust Mandatory Training Courses.
* Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
