Key Account Manager - Aftermarket (Hybrid)
Our globally established Client is an automotive supplier and strategic partner to all automakers worldwide and is the leading supplier of cutting-edge automotive technologies. Working for their aftermarket service and supply division, on an exclusive basis, we are seeking a Key Account Manager to replace an established retiring member of the team.
As part of this £20bn Group and with a focus on the UK and Irish markets but having close working collaboration with their European sister organisations, the Key Account Manager (KAM) will continue to manage and develop relationships providing a range of aftermarket parts and services for global motor vehicle manufacturers. Parts typically include electro-mechanical components, lighting, engine components, transmission components, garage equipment and a range of other parts for both combustion engine and EV markets.
Seeing continued double-digit growth within their territories, our Client continues to be recognised as the core aftermarket supplier working directly with distributors and trade suppliers in to their respective markets.
Job Purpose:
1. To continue to manage and develop core clients within the UK and Irish markets through a strength in relationship management and consultative sales methodology.
2. Working with an existing territory value of currently £7m, the KAM is targeted on maintaining and growing this 'patch' value further on a proactive basis ensuring the aftermarket products and service offering is maximised.
3. Work closely with the existing commercial and operational teams in the UK as well as throughout Europe.
4. Report to the UK Managing Director and working closely with the core KAM team.
Key Attributes and Activities Being Sought:
1. Have exceptional relationship building capability and a demonstrable track record - right contact at the right level approach.
2. Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels.
3. Have clear understanding and working awareness of the automotive and relating aftermarket sectors in the UK and Ireland - this will include a strong level awareness of globally supplied vehicle programmes.
4. Have a high level of attention to detail.
5. Be able to work in a high KPI driven environment - suitable IT and reporting skills will be required.
6. Ability to work out sales opportunities that will accomplish budgeted margins and correspond to the company's sales policies.
7. Demonstrate a suitable technical aptitude to be able to discuss market and customer requirements as part of a solution sell methodology.
8. Work on a semi-autonomous approach from a hybrid working position.
9. Research, identify and target new customer opportunities while accurately and positively managing core existing clients.
10. Generate business in line with commercial strategy and technical capabilities.
11. Understand the commercial and technical needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
12. Liaise with the management team on product and service requirements necessary to support sales growth and success.
13. Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the management team.
14. Supply feedback on competitor activities.
