We are delighted to partner with a highly successful and fast-growing global commercial market leader. Our client is looking for a Finance Manager to lead an existing finance team from their impressive offices based in the North East, Stockton-on-Tees. This is an office based role, 5 x days per week.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for the finance function alongside providing management support.
The role will include:
* Maintaining and reviewing financial controls and systems within the business
* Identifying, and recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices
* Supporting the Group Financial Controller with their upcoming new ERP system implementation
* Overseeing the daily management of a finance team of 5 people
The Main Duties & Responsibilities will include:
* Management of European Accounts, VAT & Payroll
* Swift resolution of monthly reporting queries
* Month end/Year End Routines
* Support/manage year-end audit requirements, liaising with external audit team
* Management of International & UK VAT
* Provide technical support to the operations team regarding shipping matters (importing of goods both UK & European)
* Support the management of stock/stock reporting
* Ensure internal controls are adhered to by reviewing work processes within the department and its interactions with other parts of the business.
* Staff appraisals and staff management
* Provide staff training/performance management/development
* Support with the implementation of new ERP system
We are looking for the following qualifications & experience:
* Technical accounting skills – a strong knowledge of the fundamental accounting principles
* Excel skills – demonstrable skills using Excel with proven ability to manipulate large quantities of data with experience of using LOOKUPs and Pivots
* Experience in a management level finance role within a commercial organisation
Ideally with the following:
* Qualified Accountant status or previous 5 years’ experience in a similar role
* Experience and knowledge gained within a business trading internationally
* Experience with European subsidiaries would be advantageous

The salary range is £55-65,000 (dependent on skills and experience) + up to 10% bonus + superb pension.
