Interim Refugee Resettlement Officer

Pay Rate: Up to £20.98 per hour PAYE depending on experience
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 2-3 months

The purpose of the role is to be the main point of contact for individuals and families as they settle into the community, working in partnership with statutory and voluntary organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
Be the named point of contact between your clients and all statutory services for a length of time dependant on the criteria of the resettlement scheme. This will be for a minimum of 12-months.
Assess the needs of clients and develop individual target support/action plans for them in line with resettlement scheme requirements and to ensure the best outcome and clients become empowered to live independently.
Provide targeted support to address specific problems, such as ensuring their tenancy is sustained and any housing-related problems are resolved.
Develop positive relationships with local statutory, voluntary and community organisations to enable clients to be supported as needed.
Be aware of local initiatives and grant funding that is available to benefit clients.
Recognise and respond to safeguarding and/or domestic abuse cases, including completing referrals as required.
Provide practical support as needed for identified issues.
Ensure recordkeeping is accurate and up to date, following correct procedures for keeping data secure on case management systems in line with UK GDPR.
Coordinate initiatives that will benefit the lives of clients, included but not limited to developing language skills, employment, wellbeing and awareness events.
Arrange and chair multi-agency meetings with internal and external partners as required to identify shared solutions.
Assist with reporting Key Performance Indicators, such as by gathering feedback data from clients, to support continuous improvement of the service and to understand the impact of our work.
Qualifications:
A good standard of general education.
Relevant qualifications, including but not limited to; social care, health, education, housing, or youth work.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
At least 2-years frontline experience supporting individuals or families and understanding the needs and challenges that customers may face.
Experience of completing support plans and writing outcome reports.
Experience of working within a team and with internal and external stakeholders, as well as on own initiative.
Experience representing an organisation to internal and external stakeholders, with strong people skills to build rapport and work in a non-judgemental way, and challenging any inappropriate behaviours.
Experience and confidence in lone working and personal safety.
Knowledge of statutory, voluntary, and community organisations available locally and how to access them.
Ability to assess the support needs of adults and children and to produce targeted support plans.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
