MECHANICAL PROJECT ENGINEER – ENVIRONMENT
ANNESLEY
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.
Reporting to the Project Manager, in your role as Mechanical Project Engineer, you will support in the project management and delivery of Waste non-Infrastructure projects from outline scope to the completion of the construction stage, scoping of all necessary site investigation works and initial surveys to assist design and construction.
You will:
* Be an integral part of Project Delivery team, interfacing with internal and external multi-discipline designers and Contract Engineers where appropriate (Structural, Electrical & Mechanical Design)
* Work in conjunction with delivery teams to promote integrated project delivery.
* Play a primary role in the production of operational construction stage documentation, obtaining all necessary external permits and approvals to commence construction.
* Engage and manage relevant Sub-Contractor’s through site investigation, design and construction stages.
* Your role forms an essential link in the supply chain, involving effective liaison, engagement, and communication between the Client and key third-party stakeholders, to facilitate accurate programming of works as part of Project Delivery.
* Show flexibility, resilience, and the ability to influence and build relationships.
* Attend design, progress and site meetings as required, to review progress and costs as well as provide mentoring and support to junior employees.
* Attend internal and external programme reviews and inputting into Cost to Complete with set budgets as well as using the companies Common Data Environments (CDE) to comply with delivery processes and procedures.

About You:
Alongside your previous experience of infrastructure project delivery and appropriate Mechanical Qualifications, we’re seeking somebody with an understanding of NEC 4 Contractual requirements and an understanding of sustainable development, with a drive and commitment to support the companies' commitments.
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive sound knowledge of current legislation and able to work in accordance with QA and H&S procedures as well as an awareness and understanding of CDM.
You’ll have proven track record of effective time management, able to prioritise objectives to ensure tasks are met to specific deadlines. You’re prepared to ask for support from colleagues where necessary.
We’re seeking somebody with effective communication skills, allowing others to present their points for discussion, challenging the status quo where appropriate, with the ability to provide constructive feedback in a sensitive manner.
