The Role We are looking for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their individual goals. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including those with EHCPs. Assist in implementing individual learning plans (ILPs) and behavior support plans (BSPs). Work closely with teachers and SENCO to adapt learning materials and resources. Support pupils in developing social, emotional, and academic skills. Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing insights with the wider team. Foster strong relationships with pupils, parents, and external professionals. About You Essential: Experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting. Understanding of different SEN conditions, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Desirable: Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate. Training in specific interventions (e.g., Makaton, PECS, or Team Teach).
