Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Manage and co-ordinate the Trust voluntary services team across all hospital sites, setting clear objectives and empowering the team to enhance the volunteers experience through effective implementation of policies and procedures to achieve national volunteering standards.
* Line manages the Voluntary services coordinators, including conducting appraisal and performance reviews. Effectively manage the DBS and NHS ID checking process for Volunteer Services.
* Oversee the successful and timely and safe recruitment and induction of volunteers within the trust, in accordance with agreed policies and good practice.
* Ensure that voluntary services are aligned to all appropriate trust policies and embeds trust values as standards across all volunteer involvement.
* Pro-actively seek new opportunities for volunteer involvement, ensuring that opportunities are supported by the involvement of wider stakeholders and roles are introduced effectively to achieve the desired outcomes and impact.
Person specification
Education/Qualifications
* Degree level or equivalent experience
* Further relevant training or equivalent experience in a related field
Experience
* Experience of working with volunteers and understanding of the opportunities and challenges this can bring
* Experience of working in a health or social care or related environment
* Experience of working with a range of people in different settings
* Line management experience
Skills Abilities/knowledge
* Confident support and leadership skills
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and networking skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with a range of service users, carers, staff, and other stakeholders
