We are looking to appoint an innovative and enthusiastic part-time Science Technician to work 15 hours per week, term time only plus INSET days.
You will assist the Senior Technician to provide the practical and technical aspects of the science curriculum by preparing, providing, maintaining, organising and managing the resources required for safe and secure, practical activities to be carried out by staff and students.
The Science Department consists of 7 science teachers, all specialists in their own field. The department is housed in an extremely well equipped and modern suite of science labs and is supported by the part-time Science Technician and Senior Science Technician who are an integral part of the team.
All students study at least the Combined science award with approximately a quarter of students opting to study separate sciences.
We have students studying at least two sciences at A level and many of these go on to top universities to further their scientific interests. Science is also a popular choice for our EPQ and HPQ students.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience of working in a school prep room, a natural interest in the sciences, a keen eye for detail, and as a minimum – GCSEs in Science, English and Maths.
