About the role As the Group Financial Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with external reporting process, providing administration support to the financial reporting team, and where possible providing technical support to the business. The role interacts on a regular basis with Financial Reporting team members, Supply Chain teams and external logistics suppliers and manufacturers. In addition, you'll also play a key role as part of the external audit process. This is a superb opportunity to join a finance team in a growing listed retail and services business. The right person for the role will have some good base financial reporting and accounting knowledge, an engaging, energetic and proactive style, and be keen to learn and develop within the team. Key Responsibilities Supplier statement reconciliations for major tyre manufacturers. Reconcile deliveries into 3PL warehouse vs invoice records. Follow up with tyre manufacturers on shortages. Completion of balance sheet reconciliations for above process. Key contact for external audit process. Project work to improve and implement processes around the 3PL tyre service provider. Use of internal systems such as SAP/BW, GDP to improve processes. Utilise the Group Data Platform and become trained in the new Power BI tool. Skills & Experience Trainee accountant – part qualified Great attention to detail Technically astute and intellectually curious Ability to challenge and drive through change Collaborative team worker Good IT skills – needs to be competent in using Excel in particular A basic knowledge of IFRS accounting standards would be useful Ability to quickly build effective working relationships and internal networks
