The successful applicant will hold a level 2 qualification in stock management.
Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will participate in the pharmacy "top-up" service, initially at Hull Royal Infirmary, but this may expand to cover Castle Hill Hospital in the future. This involves:
1. Visiting clinical area(s), identifying and documenting the quantity of stock that requires ordering.
2. Checking the expiry dates of stock held and ensuring stock rotation when putting stock away.
3. Ensuring wards and departments receive stock in a timely manner and are promptly notified of any shortages.
4. Supporting and/or participating in the processing of top-up requests and amendments from all clinical areas using the Pharmacy Computer System according to standard operating procedures.
5. Supporting and/or participating in the processing of ad-hoc requests/orders using the Pharmacy Computer System according to standard operating procedures.
6. Ward fluid top-up.
7. Recycling, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods to wards and departments.
8. May be required to assist in distribution when trained to do so.
9. Will help to distribute drugs around Trust sites using trust transport when trained to do so.
The ward stock assistants will work 4 hours a day, 20 hours a week, Monday to Friday. The hours can be tailored to individual needs between the times 7.30 am - 2 pm. The successful applicants will participate in the Bank Holiday working arrangements of the department.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Evidence of a good level of general education required i.e. literate and numerate to the degree required for job description tasks (reading, writing, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and simple calculations).
* Sufficient capability to complete Pharmacy training programmes required for the post and be completed within a maximum of 12 months.
* Ability to carry out instructions and recall.
Experience
* Experience of working in a customer-focused environment.
* Understanding of when to seek advice and refer to senior professionals.
* Healthcare, dispensing, shop, supermarket, or warehousing experience.
* Experience of team working.
Skills, Knowledge, and Ability
* Able to communicate and interpret information in a clear and logical manner.
