As a Physio Technician/Assistant in our Community Respiratory Service, you will play an essential role in supporting patients with chronic respiratory conditions. Working alongside physiotherapists and specialist nurses, you will assist in delivering Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs and supporting Home Oxygen patients across various sites in Hounslow.
Your role will involve helping patients build confidence in managing their breathlessness, assisting with exercise sessions, patient assessments, and progress monitoring, and providing education on self-management strategies. You will work directly with patients, offering guidance on breathing techniques, energy conservation, and symptom control to improve their daily lives.
We are looking for proactive, patient-focused individuals with strong communication skills, a compassionate approach, and a willingness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Essential criteria
* Good level of general education (GCSE or equivalent)
* Evidence of continuous development
* Care certificate
* Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care/NVQ Level 3 or above or equivalent
Desirable criteria
* Attendance on Assistants Training Programme.
* Recognised qualification in relevant subject.
* Trusted Assessor trained
* Associate membership of CSP/BAOT (A)
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
* Previous experience in NHS, Healthcare or Social Care
* Working with patients who have multiple diagnoses including stroke / patients with neurological conditions
* Working within multidisciplinary team
* Experience carrying out rehabilitation programmes
* Have knowledge and understanding of the role of Rehabilitation professionals in the community
* Have knowledge of conditions that can lead to disability and their impact on individuals
