Are you an experienced and passionate Property Maintenance Surveyor (known internally as a Repairs and Empty Homes Inspector) with great customer service skills, ready to embrace new career challenges in 2024.
In this post you will have an opportunity to make a difference to our tenants’ lives, assisting them with their home's repairs and maintenance, sustaining tenancies and providing a brilliant customer experience.
About us
We are an award-winning not for profit housing association that currently owns nearly 8,800 homes across County Durham. We offer more than just a home. We help improve the lives of the people living in our homes and in our places. We work hard to make sure those homes are high quality, sustainable and adaptable, while meeting tenants’ current and future aspirations. We offer support that help people into work and training and increase their financial confidence and stability.
There is no Plan B. There is no Planet B either. Now in the third and final phase of our nine-year Plan A, our strategy for 2022-25 and beyond requires ourselves, our suppliers, partners, and customers to raise our game with a primary focus on supporting sustainable places. To achieve this our new build and acquisition programme, regeneration work and home improvement programme will all be focused on improving lives through sustainable homes and places.
About the role
As a Property Maintenance Surveyor, you will be undertaking inspections of occupied properties, identifying, and recording repair issues, and raising necessary works orders.
You will take ownership of each case until issues are resolved, including checks on completed work and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
About you
Putting the tenants at the heart of all you do comes naturally to you. You will have extensive technical experience of repairs and maintenance services, the ability to effectively diagnose the extent of property repairs and to issue appropriate work orders in compliance with Livin’s policy and procedures. You will monitor the work undertaken by Livin’s contractors to check that works are carried out in accordance with specifications, ensuring that a high standard of workmanship is achieved.
You will be confident and competent at using digital customer and asset systems to understand both the home and the household and recognise the critical importance of data quality in providing an outstanding customer experience.
Educated to Level 5 in a relevant Surveying/Building Studies/Construction qualification (or equivalent), you will be able to demonstrate your commitment to continuous personal development.
