Senior Quantity Surveyor - Maintenance & Planned Works
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded and well known property maintenance contractor. They are looking to take on an experienced quantity surveyor.
Job Purpose/Background:
Qualified Quantity Surveyor with a background within social housing planned works.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Meeting and exceeding forecasts for profit & WIP targets.
2. Manage the day to day work and training of all trainees, surveyors and other employees controlled within branch, ensuring productivity.
3. Ensure that tenders are progressed to provide an accurate basis for pricing and to allow sufficient time for the Branch Manager / Commercial team to give them proper consideration.
4. Monitor the weekly and monthly cost information and ensure the accurate production of monthly valuations.
5. Maintain strong relationships with customers to retain and grow existing contracts and identify opportunities that could lead to new business.
6. Exercise commercial judgment to protect the company from financial or other loss.
7. Maintain a site presence and ensure commercial information is a true reflection of the position on site.
8. Responsible for the continued development of Assistant and Trainee Surveyors.
9. Responsible for large volumes of sales within a location.
Knowledge / Experience:
1. Professional Qualification (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent (Preferred).
2. Previous experience of Planned works contracts with local authorities/housing associations.
3. Previous experience of working with bill of quants, schedules of rates etc.
4. Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors.
5. Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting.
6. Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently on own initiative.
7. Excellent time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines.
8. Ability to encourage and support other members of the commercial team.
Salary & Benefits:
1. Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 (Depending on experience).
2. Company car or car allowance (£6.5k).
