Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team in supporting primary school educators. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes the academic and personal development of students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and supporting individual students with their learning.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, particularly those who may need extra help.
* Support students’ emotional and social development, encouraging positive behaviour and interaction.
* Help manage classroom resources and maintain a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
* Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing materials and organizing activities.
* Foster a positive relationship with students, parents, and staff members.
Essential Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children, in a coaching, care, or volunteering setting (youth groups, after-school programs, etc.).
* A passion for working with children and supporting their personal and academic growth.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* Patience, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students.
* A positive, can-do attitude and a desire to contribute to the school's community.
* Child Only Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
Desirable Skills:
* Knowledge of child development and learning strategies.
* Previous experience in a classroom setting or with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) students.
* First aid qualification (training can be provided if necessary).
